2. I created my profile - now what?

Time to start applying to projects. Our clients also have the capability to search profiles so make sure your profile stays up to date!

3.How do I apply to projects?

Great question! To start working on LexInsight, you need to apply to open projects. After logging in, go to the top right hand side of the screen and click on Jobs. That will open up a list of the open projects on our site. To apply click on Submit Proposal. Here is a link to best practices. 

4. What should I put in a proposal?

We got you covered! Once you hit Submit Proposal a pop up will appear follow the steps in the pop up. For best practices we have created a helpful video for you.

5. Do I need to be an attorney or do you hire paralegals as well?

Paralegals are welcome! We have clients that have projects just for you as well!

6.I am attorney but never have done document review. Will clients still be interested in me?

Absolutely! You're not alone create your profile and start applying for projects today! Or clients also search for attorneys in many different practice areas. Document Review is where we started but our clients hire for more too.

7. After I apply to a project, how long does it take a client to hire a legal professional?

Client projects are typically staffed within a week or so. Therefore, most clients accept or reject a bid within that timeframe.

8. How much does it cost to join LexInsight?

There is no cost for joining the platform or bidding for any project. Contract legal professionals can browse and bid for as many projects as they would like.

9. How does the payment system work?

Legal professionals report their billable hours in a timesheet on a weekly basis. LexInsight will invoice the Client on behalf of the contractor and based on the total number of hours logged in by the attorney during the timesheet period.

10. What happens if there is a disagreement between the client and document review attorney about the number of hours worked?

It is critical on part of the document review attorneys to maintain good-quality time logs on a weekly basis. The Client must review and approve or dispute the weekly timesheet within 96 (ninety-six) hours of receiving it. Frequent communication with the client regarding the hours billed and deliverable may help in keeping any timesheet related issues at bay. However in the unfortunate situation when such an issue arises LexInsight’s dispute resolution team works with both the parties to resolve the issue amicably.

11.How long is the job?

The job duration varies project to project. The length of the job is in the project description however some project may wrap up sooner or go longer. Once you are hired you will have more of an idea.

12. What is the pay rate?

The pay rate is listed individually per project. What you see is what you get. At LexInsight we believe in transparency - there are no extra fees or costs for contract legal professionals on our platform.

13. Where can I learn more about self-employment taxes?

LexInsight does not deduct any amount for withholding, unemployment, Social Security, or other taxes for the Document Review attorneys or Clients, who are solely responsible for all tax returns and payments required to be filed with or made to any federal, state, or local tax authority.


14. Why does it say that my account is under review?

If you are a contractor and your account is under review, please email us at team@lex-insight.com to get this fixed. It may appear that you have signed up as a client and we are trying to verify your company.

15. Are your projects remote?

Yes, but not all of them. If the project is remote it will state in the project location. If there is a city and state listed for review city, that means the review project is onsite at that location.

16. Is there a contract?

For contract legal professionals there is no written contract. We do ask that you represent LexInsight well in all communications with our clients.

17. Is there a number I can call to talk to someone?

Yes, our phone number is 408-216-9398. However, for quickest turn around time, please email team@lex-insight.com and we can have some call you within one business day.

18. What if the client asks me to work outside of LexInsight

Circumventing the LexInsight platform to work with clients outside the platform is a material violation of our LexInsight Services Agreement. You should report such instances at legal@lexinsight.com. If we come across any such case, we reserve the right to initiate legal proceedings against the parties involved.

19. How do I reset my password?

To reset your password go to the login page and click on the Forgot Password link. If you do not recieve an email within 2-3 minutes to reset your password please check your spam folder.

20. How do I delete my account?

We are truly sad to see you go. If you must go we understand. sSnd a message to team@lex-insight.com and they will delete your account for you within 24 hours of your request.

For Clients

1. What is LexInsight?

LexInsight is an AI-powered legal talent marketplace that connects top contract legal talent to law firms and corporations who need their project staffed quickly and cost-efficiently. Our vision is to make the legal staffing industry more transparent by putting contractors directly in contact with hiring managers and specialists in charge of legal projects. LexInsight is the proprietary product of LexInnova Technologies, LLC incorporated in San Jose, CA.

2. What kind of projects can you post on LexInsight?

LexInsight's attorneys have a wide range of specializations! You can post any kind of contract, temp, temp-to-hire, or full time position on LexInsight.

3. How do I register on LexInsight?

LexInsight provides an easy way to register on the platform. You just need to fill up a simple form with details like your first Name, last Name and a valid email address. You would be asked to choose a username and a password. The system will prompt you to verify the email address, after which you would be able to use all the features of the platform.

4. Do you conduct background checks?

We conduct educational, professional licensing and criminal background checks on all members of LexInsight.

5. How does the payment process work?

The payment process is pretty simple. The contractor maintains his/her timesheets within the platform and raises her invoice at a time mutually agreed between you and the contract attorney. You can review the time log and approve her invoice. After approving, you make the payment, using your preferred method, to LexInsight, which disburses the funds to the contract attorney after deducting a Platform Service Fee and Payment Processing Fee, as applicable.

6. What should I expect after posting the project?

Once the project is posted, our system sends out notifications to all the candidates whose skills match with the requirements of your project. The selected candidates then apply to the project by entering their billing rates, which might vary. You receive a notification every time a candidate bids for your project. You can use the system to accept/reject the bids. You may either invite the shortlisted candidates for interview or hire them directly. Once hired, you may ask the contract attorneys to execute Service contracts with you.

7. How long does it take to get bids?

The system sends out notifications to candidates in real time, so you are likely to receive multiple bids within just a few hours of posting the project.

8. What happens if a contract attorney doesn’t show up to work?

While attorneys schedule their work directly with a client, if a contract attorney doesn’t show up to work, we will work with you to find a suitable replacement asap.
